Take the Dill
Being a mother, giving life, can seem like a blessing, a gift from nature, or a gift from heaven; but for those who are unprepared, for those who have seen their status change overnight, this is not always the case. When faced with this situation where the unknown brings despair, two paths are available to them: flee or face it. For those who decide to resist, it begins with a phase of acceptance (1st part of the ACCEPTANCE table). In this first part of our work, we illustrate the distress that these young mothers found themselves in and who, despite this fear of the unknown, were able to initiate a process of resilience through the first phase which is acceptance. Thus, they accept that their status has changed, that it is no longer the same and they therefore decide to move forward to give life, even if the world turns its back on them. In this fight that they have decided to lead to be the best mother, even some will remain alone for years, some will find help and sooner or later someone will join them in their fights because very few people are capable of turning their backs on the innocent smile of a baby or the overflowing love of a young mother. This reversal of situation is described by many of these young mothers as the moment they were no longer expecting, this moment is described in the second part of the table (CHALLENGE). In this cycle of resilience, after this phase comes the last one where these mothers find what could be called a normal life, this moment where they can still smile happily at life is described in the third part of our table (PRACTICE). This large ensemble that retraces the resilience journey of the young mother we called TAKE THE DILL.”
